April 14th Skywarn Meeting Recap!

Weather enthusiasts and meteorologists once again gathered April 14th for our meeting at the Grapevine!
The first topic discussed was the 2019 Mid - Atlantic Chaser Con, which is set for October 26th, 2019 at the Richmond Science Museum.
The METRO Richmond stem fair awards were then discussed, with Majety Medha (Godwin Highschool) winning the American Meteorological Society and NOAA award!
Mr. Effertz then informed us about being contacted by Chief Gray of the Pamunkey Indian Tribe about the recent installation of a weather station as part of the Tribal Soil Climate Analysis Network. In fact, Chief Gray even offered us to come down for a vist this summer.
Next, both admendents to our consitution regarding our non profit status passed. For more information, please check out our documents page.
Shotrly after, chapter elections were held, and Mr. Effertz, Mr. Harper, and Mr. Salkovitz ran unapposed and were elected unanimously.

Finally, speaker Mike Dutter, a science operation officer at the NWS, gave an extremely interesting presentation on the NWS Skywarn Program and severe weather.
