April 6th Meeting Recap!

On April 6th, weather enthusiasts and meteorologists once again gathered at the Grapevine to share their passion for all things meteorology! The designated speaker for the evening was Chris White, a Virginia-based storm chaser. Chris White is also the founder of the Mid-Atlantic Severe Weather Conference and is a Virginia Tech alum.

Important Announcements/Updates:

However, before the presentation could begin, some important club announcements and updates were made. First, our secretary-treasurer Russ Harper read the meeting minutes and provided a treasure's report.

Hugh Elwood then passed around a signup sheet for anyone interested in speaking on any topic related to meteorology at the University of Richmond. Please reach out to Hugh if you are interested. You can reach him on Twitter at @HenricoWXGeek.

Elections will be held soon, so if you are interested in running, please contact Russ Harper. If you are interested in running for president, you must be a member of the American Meteorological Society.

It was then time for Chris White to deliver his presentation! Chris chronicled his storm chasing journeys and also discussed the unique terrain and meteorological elements of storm chasing in Virginia. Chris also explained some interesting weather phenomena he's gotten to experience and reflected on some of his most memorable storm chasing experiences. Thank you Chris for an amazing presentation!

Below are the Zoom recording and pictures from the meeting! Our next meeting will be June 15th, we can't wait to see you there!
