On February 25th, meteorologists and weather enthusiasts gathered virtually to learn about the work being done by Peter Effertz, our chapter president, in his new job at NOAA as an ozone and water vapor scientist in Boulder, Colorado.
The meeting started off with a meet and greet. Chapter president Peter Effertz then notified members that elections are coming up! Anyone who is interested in assuming an officer position is highly encouraged to run!
Peter first discussed some of the work he does with complicated machines to measure ozone levels. Peter then transitioned to talke about some of the general objectives and projects being conducted by his branch of the Global Monitoring Lab and discussed topics such as the Ozone Hole. Thank you Peter for a deeply interesting presentation! Below is the meeting recording and below that are some pictures. We can't wait to see you at our next meeting, and don't forget Virginia's severe weather week from March 15-19!
