June 24th Meeting Recap!

On June 24th, weather enthusiasts and meteorologists gathered fully virtual for perhaps the last time. The meeting started with some brief remarks by Peter Effertz, and then election results were announced! Congratulations to President-Elect Ben Woods, VP-Elect Russ Harper, and Secretary-Treasurer-Elect Tom Drake!

Once all formalities were taken care of, Ben Woods delivered a deeply interesting presentation on his work as a WPO manager. Mr. Woods discussed his administrative duties and the objectives of NOAA, which include minimizing property damage and loss of life through sponsoring 38 research projects that aim to get a better understanding of extreme weather phenomena.
