Meeting Reminder and Call for Judges!

The AMS Chapter meeting information is below. Please note we need candidates for our chapter officer positions! The chapter president must be a member (Associate, Student, or Full) of the national AMS.
But first, Carroll Ellis has put out a request for screener and judges for the Math Science Innovation Center STEM Fair:
Hello Everyone, I hope you are enjoying your Ice storm day! The MathScience Innovation Center Metro Richmond STEM Fair is still up and running for 2021. We had over 130 papers to sort through and match up with screeners. We are in need of a few more junior and senior division screeners in the categories below. if you (or someone you know can support the STEM Fair in this way, please let me know and I will contact them with further directions). Papers need to be read by March 3rd so that students can move on to the judging phase of the fair (in applicable) on March 20th. If you have leads in any of these categories, let me know. Categories: Junior Division (middle school) 1 screener in engineering (4 papers to read) 1 screener in environmental science (6 papers) 1 micro biology ( 1 paper) 1 physics (8 papers) Senior Division (high school) 1 computer science (7 papers to read) 1 behavioral science (2) 2 microbiology (4) 3 botany (7) 2 zoology (5) 1 earth and space science (4) thank you in advance,

The next Zoom meeting of the Central Virginia AMS Chapter will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, February 25th. Our speaker will be Chapter President Peter Effertz, now working for NOAA in Boulder, Colorado. Peter will present an "Overview of NOAA's Global Monitoring Lab".
The Zoom meeting will be open starting around 6:30 pm for pre-meeting discussion.

All Central Virginia Chapter AMS meetings are welcome to all with an interest in meteorology/weather (professional meteorologists and weather enthusiasts). Although encouraged, chapter members do not need to be members of the AMS. If you know anyone who would like to be included in chapter email notifications or if you would like to be removed from the email notification list, please let me know.
