The Central Virginia Chapter of the American Meteorological Society will hold our summer meeting on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at 7:00 PM at Grapevine Greek and Italian Restaurant, AND on ZOOM.

Please stop by and/or log in anytime after 6:00 PM, and have dinner and have some time for socializing before the formal meeting meeting. It is always great to catch up with eveyone’s latest news and events. We’ll have a projector set up in the banquet room at the restaurant for those to see you from Zoom and a webcam so you won’t miss anything on Zoom that happens in the live meeting.

Our Featured presenter this month is:

Christine Smith, Field Operations Manager

Observatory Operations, Global Monitoring Laboratory

Earth System Research Laboratories

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Boulder, Colorado

Christine will be sharing experiences and Weather Forecasting and Research at the South Pole.

(That’s right, while we’re sweating in the mid-summer heat, we’re going to be able to have some insight into weather at the South Pole.)

Hope to see you there! Agenda will be forthcoming.

I will also forward the Zoom link, closer to the time of the meeting.

If you know anyone who would like to be included in chapter email notifications or if you would like to be removed from the email notification list, please let me know. Please feel free to invite others and distribute this email.

Thank you.

Thanks,

Russ Harper

Secretary, Central Virginia Chapter

American Meteorological Society
