The next meeting of the Central Virginia Chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) will be at 7:00 pm EDT, Thursday, October 15, 2020. <-- Note this is a change! This meeting will be held virtually via Zoom. Our speaker will be Amber Verstynen from George Mason University. Ms Verstynen is a junior at George Mason University where she is majoring in Atmospheric Science. For the past two summers she has been serving as a student intern at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia performing atmospheric research. As a senior in high school she also served as an intern where she performed research wildfires activity. Amber is the president of the George Mason Chapter of the American Meteorological Society. She is also a member of the George Mason woman’s softball team and is on the Student Athletic Activities committee. She is originally from Poquoson, Virginia.
She will speak to us about " "Analysis of Measurement Variability During the 2017 Ozone Water–Land Environmental Transition Study (OWLETS) Campaign Caused by Boat Emissions and a Comparison to the National Air Quality Forecast Model".

All Central Virginia Chapter AMS meetings are welcome to all with an interest in meteorology/weather (professional meteorologists and weather enthusiasts). Although encouraged, chapter members do not need to be members of the AMS.
