On February 21st, weather enthusiasts and meteorologists came to CBS6 to get a tour from meteorologists Mike Stone and Zach Daniels. Once inside, the buzz of the station put many in awe. The constant news stories being pumped out by staff, anchors preparing for their next broadcast, and chatter of coworkers was amazing to see firsthand.
After about five minutes, we were then able to see the set of CBS6. From robot controlled rotating cameras to high-end glass tables, the studio was looking brilliant. In fact, CBS6 recently redid their studio by modernizing its layout, design, graphics.
Zach Daniel and Mike Stone both comprehensively explained their job responsibilities, challenges they regularly face, and unique experiences they will never forget. Furthermore, we got to see the weather tools CBS6 meteorologists use to provide forecasts.
After about 25 minutes, an interesting Q and A session was held where all sorts of questions were asked ranging from StormRider 6 to what weather models Zach Daniel and Mike Stone prefer the most.
On a side note, this meeting had our highest attendance yet, a reflection of our growing popularity in the central VA area! If you know anyone who might be interested in joining, please tell them to fill out the contact form in the join section of our website. We hope to see you at our next meeting, which will be held on April 14th, 2019!
